Captain Willard was the character Martin Sheen played in the 1979 film Apocalypse now and most fans of the film will recall that Captain Willard was regularly filmed sporting his Seiko 6105.In reality the watch was actually a favourite of many USA serviceman during the Vietnam conflict as its incredibly robust and highly reliable.

This piece has all the features you can hope for in a 1970’s dive watch, highly legible dial with large tritium filled hour markers that still glow brightly under blue light, the very keen eyed will notice that the centre second has two different shades of lume and the end, a completely original feature and one often missing .

One interesting feature of the automatic movement that can be confusing is it cannot be hand wound

The unique case design gives the watch great wrist presence although it wears much easier than the overall 45mm size would suggest.
